Right the time has come to get some...

Choices seem to be between Dainese, SixSixOne and Sicnomen.

Any thoughts on the way to go?

I really like my 661 4X elbow / forearm pads, and their chicken wings fit really well to. I haven't tried any others as I got on with these. If you're going for a full upper suit then find somewhere that sells all three and try them. Make sure their certified safety tested too.

Personal fit is the most important. Most makes are pretty good these days.

Dainese are arguably the best and are what most of my DH mates and I use.

Dainese works for me, but try some different brands on and buy what feels and fits best, as it is a very personel prefrence thing.

Good Luck.

I hear you - what fits best sounds like pretty sensible advice!

Dainese, all the way.

I have a full upper body jacket and its still in good nick after a few trips off the bike and down the trail with me inside it. The spine boards great as it stops you bending the wrong way. It also fits nicely under my snowboarding jacket so I can hit the parks without breaking too much.

Top bit of kit, not cheap mind.
