It's fantastic news.
I know a lot of people have a lot of different things to say about Andy, but he's a top bloke, he helped us at the Springspeed Festival when we needed a new set of valves, luckily he had a set in the show trailer... what are the odds of that? If the lucas guys weren't there we couldn't have raced the Sunday!
Bringing the record home where it belongs, in the UK.
Congratulations Andy!

According to Eurodragster (Tog will correct me if l'm wrong).
Urs Erbacher held the e.t. & speed records at 4.747 secs and 312.22 mph.
I was thinking more in terms of outright (ie not necessarily backed up) runs. I'm sure Kim Reymond ran a 4.72 (Norway?) the season he did the 4.64, and Urs and Lex have both run 4.7s, so just curious as to where Carter's runs fit in the scheme of things. I shall have to have a dig about on ED.Urs Erbacher held the e.t. & speed records at 4.747 secs and 312.22 mph.

It's back in the UK! WEll done to the Lucas team. A bracket car indeed.
Just a quick mention...
Tommi Happanen 4's all the way this weekend. Not everyone can say that they have also achieved this feat.
I'm tired...
Tommi's string of passes were very impressive. One of the nicest guys in the sport, it is great to have him back on form.Just a quick mention...

Great job on the Pit Notes, Kirstie
I thought my ears were burning
Some stunningly consistent performances over the weekend.
Andy Carter averaged 4.737 @ 309.55 over his 3 runs
Tommi Haapanen averaged 4.906 over 5 runs
Andy Robinson averaged 6.285 @ 224.41
Jimmy Alund averaged 6.906
Something that was missed by most last year was Urs Erbacher at the Finals, an average of 4.842 over 5 runs
I think most drivers will tell you it's not the one-off monster charge that wins events or championships, it consistency, and a lot of the pros are doing that nowadays.
