Don't know if the UK receives any USA Network programmes, but there is a new very good one called Burn Notice

http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/

The concept is a US intelligence operative that gets disavowed by his handlers (in the middle of a deal no less) and ends up dumped in Miami. While trying to find out who "burned" him he does "favours" for people in trouble to make extra cash.

It is a fantastic change of pace from the usual reality tripe and features some decent acting.

Give it a try if it crosses the pond. The Miami area stylization alone is worth watching for.

Cheers

Heard of it via TV.com. Looks like a cross between the A-Team and "The Equaliser".

Much better than the A-team. The lead character does an excellent voice over narration throughout the episodes. Very good character development (his crazy mother and trigger happy ex-ira affiliated girlfriend are just two)

Just good, old fashioned entertainment where nobody gets a recording contract, is the last "survivor" on an island or is, indeed, a chef.

By the way, he drives an early 70's black charger "left to him by his Dad"

The pilot episode was very good and all of the follow ups have been really good fun.

Seen episodes 1 and 2, and am still a little undecided. There are shadows of BayWatck for much of the program, but I can see a little grown up McGyver thrown in. Will wait for another few episodes before I call this one.

This has been getting better, but just went to see the latest episode, only to find it is on hold for two weeks due to the US open! I hate it when series do that, as I tend to lose the thread and give up on it.

Anyone else watching this still?

Anyone watch this through to the final episode? It did get better and better, and while it is still lightweight, was an interesting interlude. biggrin

We get shows like that here but usually have to pay to watch them, £5 a night I think......

I was actually in Miami, when the pilot was aired.

I watched it! smile

Was pretty cool, watching all the places i had just been to and seen..

It was pretty decent, when i got back, i ended up watching it on Stage6 every week.

Series 1 finished a wee while ago... i will be watching series 2... should my internet connection ever work beyond slow!!! smile
