I have a cunning plan for the heat, in fact two cunning plans. One is borrowed from the Vanquish. It has these great heatshields over the exhaust manifolds with shaped "exhausts" that run to vents in the bonnet. Amazing difference in the heat above the heat shields and over the exhausts. With the bonnet down there's this enormous heat haze that pours from the vents on the Vanquish at idle (appreciate that its not the same heat as a turbo install, but looks like a cool idea)
i like the thought of that heatshield, supose its a bit like the heater on an early air cooled 911.should keep engine bay temperatures down a bit.
No need to imagine, we've done 2 Ultima's with 1000+ hp.
Haven't broken a gearbox yet either. Of course we use 996 turbo, GT2, or G50/52 boxes with mods.
Just yesterday got a LSX iron block in, 5 more LS7 in process.
Also have logged over 6000 trouble free miles this year alone on the LS2 TT GTR.

Hi Jeff,
I've got a mere 640bhp, and am having trouble handling that. 1000 must be mind-boggling.
One question though from a self confessed spread freak. Your 2006 silver state acceleration figures are not quite as fast as I thought they would be.

0 to 100 in 7.4 is quick, but is 2 seconds off Ultima's GTR 720 record. Likewise the other figures, all the way to 180 mph, and the 1/4 mile times. Surely you must demolish Ultima's times ? Perhaps it's the road surface ? Just interested to hear what your 1000 bhp car does c.f. the 720, given a level playing field.
Love the profile pic by the way ....
Best regards
Tony.

Jeff had only finished the car the day before the event, and on the day of the run could not get over 4800rpm. Turned out to be electromagnetic interference from the alternator affecting one of the sensors (crank I think)..... so the win, and those figures you see are at 65% throttle......
I spoke to Jeff a last week and he said he was looking forward to this year's event, he plans on setting the bar so high that it will remain there for a long, long time.
He says that now the car is sorted it spins the wheels when the boost comes on when you nail it ..... at 100mph!!!!!.... with drag radials!!!
I didnt make it over to Power Tour this year but hope to take mine over there next year.

Thanks Crafty, I thought there must have been a problem.
Jeff will still have to battle Daijiro Inada. Despite his 210mph crash in 2006 I believe he will be back this year with an even more powerful 350-Z.
Can someone please get some footage recorded this year and post it somewhere so we can see Jeff's 0 - 200 - 0 and the rest of this amazing high speed day !
Cheers
Tony

With the nature of the course and the high speeds involved I doubt spectators/cameramen are allowed which may account for there being little or no footage from past years.Cheers
