Loads of those double black wires over the roads around Harewood at the moment, are they checking traffic volume?

Was over at Harewood last week watching them setup a bit, didn't look that bad, and still have a whole week to go... surely if the rain calms down a bit it'll be fine?

I was up there today the place is a mess! They have spent all week pulling contractors caravans out of the field. A Lot of the dismantling of the tents and stuff hasnt even started yet, in fact the dog show form the previous weekend is only just starting to get packed up. HSE have been in on the act due to the muddy conditions. Was beautiful up there today though!

Can get very crappy up there in the mud. I got stuck in the field at the Christmas craft fair last year, was a total knightmare. My little boy thought it was great though, but he didn't have to help get the car out of the mud.

Loads and loads of cars all stuck, was just a huge mud pit. We hadn't had any where near us much rain as we have had recently, so not surprised.

Oddly it was even on the overhead motorway signs yesterday M18 and M1.

You need a Landrover, it was great fun watching people get stuck smile

Has it been cancelled, or postponed to a later date. Spookily enough I just looked for it this afternoon and realised that I'd missed it. A great event that I'd like to attend if it's later in the year.

Binned I'm afraid, its held at four different venues and only comes round every four years. As I understand things with all the other country shows throughout the country it just is not feasible to put it on here again this year.

Sorry guys it's cancelled, no chance of later date being arranged. In fact as they already have next years venue 'booked' it's unlikly to return to Harewood for some years. The CLA Game Fair travels the country estates from year to year, therefore the logists are mind blowing.

Over 1000 stands with expected attends of 150,000, over the three days.

On the question of 4*4's, you should have been to Floors Castle some years back when the origisers did'nt pull the plug, even tractors were getting stuck pulling out the
Land Rovers / Range Rovers|||

Guess they leant a lession.

Its back at harewood in 4 years unfortunately. They have 5 sites which they rotate. As for attendees try 3 million the last time they had it at harewood!

shoot 3 Million? where did that figure come from, as one who tries to attend all game fairs, including the last at Harewood, its rediculas.

The figure of 150,000 over three days was taken from last weeks 'Shooting Times'

I'll go away and check with the C.L.A.

The CLA had expected 135,000, going on last years figures.

3m sounds like the total numbers for the year, including the Game Fair...

The roads round there simply wouldn't cope with that volume of traffic,if it was a single weekend.

SUCH a shame it was cancelled.
