Don't want to break the old naming & shaming rules, but if anyone has got any thoughts on why I shouldn't get the Chim serviced by DH, could you drop me a PM?

Any positive feedback I guess can be posted right here!

Assuming positive is good - I've only got good things to say about them.
Workshop manager was a friendly guy and really helpful.

Thanks Matt, actually it was your comments on your Idling & Misfire thread that prompted me to think about taking mine to them - to have exactly the same things dealt with.

You're relatively local to me. If you like I can pop over and have a listen over the weekend might be the same thing - might even spot something you've missed - second pair of eyes and all that?

That would be fantastic, I really appreciate the offer. I also have the in-laws down this weekend so an excellent excuse to disappear out of their way for a while hehe

I'll check with the missus what the plans are and drop you a note.

Hum wasn't too sure when talking to them last year, they didn't seen keen on TVR's having been messed about by the factory.

I take mine to Neil Garner at Kembrey. Very, very good, ex -f1 mechanic and has an offer on for cheap TVR work at the moment.

I've had no problems with them. Always found them to be very helpfull and the work they done on my Tiv to be very good. But I use Dulfords now as they did my engine upgrade, and David Hendry were not keen on doing engine upgrades, which is fair enough.

I visited them when I first moved to the area alongsode Neil Garner at Kemble. After visiting both I went to Neil and have never regretted it. He has a strong band of Tivvers on board now and both him and his number one bloke - Al- know their stuff and are very approachable. Al is now even in the market to get a Tiv himself...

Matt looks like this weekend is not going to work out, suspect I will be off to shopping villages and god knows what else frown Thanks for the offer though, will still take you up on it at some point.

No worries - I've ended up playing taxi to submerged/stranded locals - not in the TVR mind you!

I use David Hendry's - they've been fine with me. Good prices too (compared to SE prices). I drive from Wycombe to use them. Never had any problems getting my warranty extended with them, or with any claims.

Agree they're not into 'enhancements'. Lots of alternatives for those.

Of course they're pi55ed at TVR - what dealer wouldn't be?

I'm sure there are some good local indies too...

Just dropped the Chim off at Neil Garner. Looks like a thoroughly professional outfit. At least, that's what I reckon when I see 3 guys there at 7pm working on a 997 GT3 race car in the process of balancing it on 4 (very expensive looking) corner scales.

Will report back on Friday when I get it back!
