Lawn mower engine??
Discussion
Anybody know anything about Qualcast Suffolk Punch petrol lawn mower engines??
I've just 'inherited' one and I'd like to get it going, but I'm having problems, here are the symptoms:-
-Petrol pouring out of the overflow on the carb, if I take off the float bowl and hold the float needle against it's stop it will seal, but not under it's own force.
-Obviously it won't start, but the plug is not even getting wet ( good spark by the way ) I can get it to start by pouring petrol into the cylinder, but as soon as it's used that it dies. There doesn't seem to be much suction on the inlet side, i.e. not even enough to pull the fuel through. I done a compression test and it's reading 5bar ( 90psi ) is that enough?
-When I do get it started it seems to run OK I just can't keep it running.
I've had a good search on the web and there is very little technical info about these engines. If anybody can offer any help I'd appreciate it.
