Wheel Refurb

Hi Guys

Just wondering what the situation is on the refurb of 3R wheels... The tyre fitter managed to take off the laquer and the paint in a small area on one wheel.
They have obviously agreed to get the wheel refurb'd but will use Spit and Polish in Kent (14 day turn around! ) Anyone used these guys before... and whats the status with the plastic hex bolts? are they easily obtainable?

I hope you're getting the Tyre Fitter to pay for the repairs....

The plastic hex bolts are NOT easy to replace. Many people have tried to find a solution and failed I'm afraid, there seems to be no easy answer.

Well after talking to the tyre company... They have agreed to use my choice of refurb company and pay whatever it costs!!! wooo hooo!

So I am going to you Ashford International - thanks to Mole Valley for the recommendation and I also get the day off work on Monday when they come round to do it....

As for the plastic bolts - they are pretty sure that they won't touch them - happy days!

Question is now, do I get all four done and strip of the paint and leave them polished? anyone done this before?

Thanks Joust - thought I had seen a post with some pure bling in it.

Greg - if you read this how are they going and any regrets not getting them powder coated?

They are still in the boxes!!

Not had the other set done yet and I want the road tyres putting on them.

Should be on in a week or so with any luck. (if we get the judder sorted out)

Will post more pics when I get the car back.

I got all mine done through Plans Motorsport. Not sure who they used but the job was very good in the end. I did loose the little bolts but it actually still looked fine.

Got Ashford International to do the one wheel this morning... Wow what a service, totally 100% spot on.

Decided to keep the painted rim after chatting this through with people - it sounded like a bit too much upkeep.

Recently had my Daily Drive done by folks @ Rimtech 07889 106764 (Dartford area). The fella looked @ my 3R wheels and said easiest bet would be to skim the outer rim and then blow each wheel over - although a down side of this may be that there would be a line where the wheels were skimmed. Other than that I'd recommend these fellas for doing cosmetic work to your daily drives.
