To all of you with a little more xperience of LM than myself ... can you suggest any items for packing that may not appear essential or obvious to a LM virgin ??

So far the packing list is ..

BBQ
Beer
Tent
Sleeping Bag
Washkit
Meat (for BBQ for 1 night at least)
Beer
Infatable bed
TVR toolkit
Torch

Ideas ???

Serios suggestion - don't take beer.

Buy it when you get there. Saves space and weight. Ditto for meat/food.

Depends how much space you've got really, how many are in your group, and which camp site your in
Paddling Pool
Gas stove
Seats
Electric cable
Light/Torch
Radio, for Radio Le Mans, a must have because after 5 laps you'll have no idea of the positions
Sponge to wash dead french flies off the windscreen
BBQ
BBQ tongues, forgot these one year, was a laugh flipping burgers with a pair of pliars
Tent
Sleeping Bag
Cool Bag/Box
Waterproofs
Cash/Euros/Credit card
Maps
Tools for fixing minor problems with the car, and assembling the BBQ
Passport
Tickets
E111 Health form
Food, drink and fags buy in France
Petrol, roll off the ferry on fumes and fill up before leaving France
Trailer to carry all this crap Can't believe we did it one year with just a backpack with a change of clothes, a toothbrush, and a fistfull of Francs
I'm bound to have forgot something, I always do, I usually remember it when we're half way there, usually it's nothing important though
Edited because I did indeed forget stuff.....
1st aid kit
Warning triangle
Spare bulb kit
Driving documents
Toilet roll
More than 1 CD/MD
Large Union Flag/St George cross
PistonHeads stickers
Bottle opener/cork screw
Loads of other little bits and bobs that you don't really 'need' but will make life a little more comfy when your there

My things to remember list is something like:
Passport, Race/camping Tickets, Ferry Tickets, Money, Driving License, Car Insurance, Reg Doc, reflector triangle (I beleive it's a legal requirement to carry all of these in France), AA cover, first aid kit, TVR emergency repair kit.
Radio, sun cream, waterproofs, hat, sun-glasses, toilet roll, wet wipes, alarm clock (had an early return crossing one year) and last but not least: Bottle Opener.

Just buy everything else when you get there.

Well despite advocating buying as much as possible when there my car will contain:-

Tent
Sleeping Bags
Airbeds
Pillows
Fridge and possibly coolbox
Gazebo
Camping table
Water carrier
Bottle opener
Wet weather gear (carrying it means it wont rain!)
Tickets
Passport
Chairs

Will buy food, bbq, and any items that I forget on arrival!

It is not a legal requirement to carry a red triangle in France, however it is a legal requirement to display one if you breakdown, have an accident or generally being a hazard)

So if you have no plans to crash or break down, leave it at home.

Best tie one to the back of littleG's cavalier then

edited to add that an E111 is a very good one not to forget as it entitles you to get free medical aide - not that any of us are gonna need it :fingerscrossed: with the possible exceptions of alcohol poisoning of course judging by some requirements posted above!

It was always going to be a disaster meeting in a pub on a Sunday to discuss this. What we ended up deciding was sort yourselves out and I'll have another pint.

As for Sunday ... Maybe ... I will be in Suffolk after a wedding so I'll see what time we rise !

I'll check with Rob ...
