turbo technics conversion

was hoping to turbo the 2.8 S1 using the turbo technics from a capri (got the whole engine cheap) but hit a problem with clearance at the manifolds, after reading the thread on manifolds the capri manifold comes out of the engine and faces towards the bulkhead, the tvr manifold faces towrds the rad. the turbo technics manifold also faces towards the bulkhead not giving enough clearance, would it be possible to turn the manifold upside down to face forward with some fancy plumbing to get it to fit, anybody ever done it?

Can you simply swap left to right so the whole thing points forwards, then take it under the front as per the V8S?

Something like that ought to work; had an exhaust place in Sheffield draw up some plans to bring the manifolds forward, join at the front and pass down the offside of the engine above the cross member that normally causes the V6 to ground out. IIRC they quoted about half a day to do the pipework. Not sure of the size/layout of the engine conversion, but I should think the basic principle would work..

been looking for a turbo techs kit for the 2.9 but seem to be rare. i think they did make one but it was stopped for some reason?

the turbo technics kit from the sierra 4x4 should fit. they did a twin turbo and single turbo kit i think. they are different from the capri tt because they use the efi engine, the capri has the mfi. should be an easier fit though if you can find one
