OK, I've been meaning to post this suggestion up for a little while.... This is suitable for everyone - even if you've never been on track before!
Whilst not a trackday on a proper track, this may be something which people might want to do in addition, having the advantage that it's not that hard on the cars, there's nothing to hit (apart from a few cones), it's great fun, and if we get sufficient people, it works out to be pretty good value.
I recently attended a Car Limits Activity Day at North Weald airfield with Andrew Walsh. Some of you may have done the standard Car Limits day (2 or 4 people) which I've previously found very useful and enjoyable, but the Activity Day is a different format, and was a great laugh. I went along with the GTROC (Skyline Owners Club), but took the Noble. It was so successful that another was organised for September and there are already 18 of the 20 places booked!
The format is basically that 20 drivers attended, with the total cost for the day being around £1000 - which means £50 per driver - so not expensive! There were 4 "Activities" with 2 going on at the same time in different areas of the airfield.
During the morning:
The Corner - Drive down a service road at 90 degrees to the runway. When reaching the runway, turn sharply left without crossing the line in the centre of the runway - (imaginary brick wall). OK, made it at 60mph - next try at 65, 70, 75. Once you reach the limit and spin, get a bit of advice from Andrew on how to do it faster!
Slalom - On a different bit of runway, from a standing start - through the slalom course of cones to the far end. Park in the "garage" between 4 cones, reverse out between 2 other cones, then back down the slalom course coming to a stop between the finish cones. Good fun to do, and Andrew's assistant also times all the attempts - so a friendly bit of competition develops.
During the afternoon:
The Circuit - Basically 5 cones arranged a good distance apart over a very wide area of runway. Andrew explains the route around them which makes up the circuit. Length of the circuit takes about a minute to complete. All attempts are timed, so again, a friendly competitive side to this, and great fun.
Drag Race - As the name suggests - Standing start over about 1/8th mile runway. Both cars go to the start and flash lights when ready. Organiser's car off to one side near the finish with lights on turns off lights to start the race. Again an excellent bit of fun.
In all cases (apart from the drag race), there is only 1 car doing an activity at a time, so no chance of collisions, and no issue of stone chips from the car infront.
There is obviously no pressure to do more than you want. You do get plenty of goes at each activity - basically when you complete an acivity, at the end, just join the queue for another go (or pull off for a bit to take photos, have a chat, or whatever..)
The actual contents/agenda for the day can be quite flexible if we wanted to change anything - just a case of discussing it with Andrew.
There are no noise limits.
Day lasts from 9:00am - 4:00pm with an hour for lunch (cafe on site, or local pub).
There are apparently a few places to stay in the vicinity (no personal experience here, but we can get recommendations).
Last time I was there I had a word with Andrew, and if we have doubts about filling all 20 places, he suggested that we determine the level of attendance from the Nobility, and if we cannot fill the whole number of places, he could then open the remaining places up for (e.g. SELOC to fill the rest of the places with Lotus's or Loti). Alternatively, I'd imagine that if we didn't want 20 cars, so long as we cover the cost of the day, we could do it with less - so 10 cars at £100 each and even more time on each activity...
I am suggesting this in addition to any trackdays being organised and given the need to organise it in advance, we would be looking at later in the year - I don't know whether there are more dates available but currently their website indicates available dates of Tues 9th and Thurs 11th October.
If people are interested, I'd be happy to contact Car Limits and enquire about any other available dates for this.

I was thinking about this a while ago and chatted to Adrian and a couple of others about it. Who all seemed quite keen. Also think more people would attend this rather than a full blown track day. If we could do it on a Friday I am sure it would be a good excuse for a meal and drinks after...as Adrian's is just round the corner sure he will do a Bar-B-Q 
Just a couple of points
I think the "corner" can become a bit boring after a bit(specially for us that have done it 2 or 3 times before).
Andy can set up a small timed sprint course that he does on some of the LoT Activity days.
Also (and sorry if this sounds like a pop, because it isnt) the drag race would not appeal to me, as I am loathe to put so much pressure on the box and clutch)
But I would deffo be up for this, good man for making the effort to suggesting/sort it.

Totally agree with Alex S's points.
I have done the 3-4 person day before, and apart from my car breaking a hub carrier whilst in Andy's hands
I really enjoyed the day.
If we fully booked up a day then we could get Andy to do what ever we want.
I would happily book up a day in full and then just divide the cost between how ever many of us turned up.
If he charges £1000 for 20 then a) i think we could barter that down a bit to say £750 or £800 and then if 12 of us attended it would be as low as £65 each.

First time the Nob has bitten back ). It also cost me a new engine last time, haha. Will have a think about attending, but i do think i would show myself up very badly

No problem. Just hope Andy sets the cones out so I can get through! You won't need a bounce potty as they're not required. Just as well in the GT as it's got less headroom that a Noble I think.agj31 said

Adam, T&T is right - the whole point of this type of day is to enjoy it whatever level of driver you are. To be honest, although I've suggested it, I'm probably one of the least competent drivers who'd be going. Although I've been on a couple of these before, I haven't done a "proper" track day, and am a bit nervous about doing one - risk of hitting things etc... It's really one of the best chances you'll get to find out more about the limits of you/your car in safety, and have some fun at the same time. Bet I lose it more times than you!

Adam, T&T is right - the whole point of this type of day is to enjoy it whatever level of driver you are. To be honest, although I've suggested it, I'm probably one of the least competent drivers who'd be going. Although I've been on a couple of these before, I haven't done a "proper" track day, and am a bit nervous about doing one - risk of hitting things etc... It's really one of the best chances you'll get to find out more about the limits of you/your car in safety, and have some fun at the same time. Bet I lose it more times than you!
