I have a hole...............well actually 2 holes, in my chassis. The only up side is that Dulford Automotive found it & they can sort it, properly. The down side is i have to pay for it !!

one small hole (10p) on each side of the front bar towards the outriggers.

real shame but it is 17 years old i guess

That's where mine have gone.

Worth while putting the mud flap/extended wheel arch protection on after it's done.

Never mind. Eventually this will happen on most but not all TVRs with this type of chassis arrangement. I looked over mine carefully before purchase, knowing the issues, but still found a small hole several weeks afterwards when I was wire brushing/rubbing down/Hammeriting and Waxoyling!! 2 ways to look at it:

1. Accept it and get it repaired, car in excess of 15 years old anyway. Then enjoy it.

2. As above, but consider that the chassis should have been manufactured/protected against corrosion to prevent this.

Keep us posted on the scope and cost for the repairs if you don't mind?

Ive owned her for 7 years & knew it would happen eventually but the old girl means alot to me so i'll do it & carry on enjoying her.

They are cutting out about 3 inches of chassis tube & the old corner plates, then replaceing the lot with thicker grade tube.....the good bit is that the new tube has a slimmer tube on the ends to slide into the original section, thus providing real solid strength. Then invisible welds. New corner plate sections & then paint & tidy up

Can be upto 24 hours of labour time apparently !!!!! doing chassis work properly so i'm preparing myself for the worst bill.

They have quoted, but i'd rather not mention precise figures at the moment as i dont want to start an expensive vs cheap debate.

Interestingly there was a Chim in at the same time, several years younger and the chassis was in pieces, literally a rot box. So much worse than just a hole like mine.
