Options for a broken Mini?
Discussion
Unfortunately a couple of months back my fiances pride and joy was written off by the insurance company follwoing a road traffic collision.
It was a fully restored 87 Mini City E purchased off of Pistonheads back in November from a couple in Brighton. Its a well known example with great provenance having been the lemon featured at the back of the mini mags before it was restored - still on original plate of F69 WOX. Of course no longer looking or sounding like a City E.
Its been sat on my parents drive while they are trying to sell their house - suffice to say its been there long enough that they are linkin it to why the house isnt sellin so it needs to move. And while its there I havent been inclined to rush to resolve things.
Havent had a chance to assess amount it will take to restore. Will add some pics to this thread tonight of pre and post accident condition. The damage is focussed on the front but rest is virtually untouched.
As a minimum means there will be loads of alloy interior tat to salvage, cooper interior, wlanut dash, 13" deep dish minilites, led angel eyes, rear lights, badges, sports arches, stage 1 exhaust, carbs, filter etc.
Is there a market for crashed minis? Is it better/easier to strip ands sell or just offload as one piece. Anyone know of anyone looking for anything similar.
Ideally we would keep it but with no drive/garage and only on street parking my options are limited!
Anyone looking for a project!
