I was just wondering if the AP Racing brake setup squeals? I have the standard pads supplied by Ultima? I don't have mine on the road yet but I remember my Cobra brakes squealing a lot. Thanks!

No, in an Ultima the brakes dont squeal.... the passengers do.

Mine do sometimes, when cold, and only at very low speed like creeping along in traffic. It is only the fronts which may be because the backs are not even being applied at those low pedal pressures.

Mine used to do it for the first few thousand miles, but seemed to have stopped come to think of it. It's a bit like a headache you forgot you had it but something reminds you later that it's gone!

Id like to bump this thread up for some more discussion.

My dad is not happy with some pad squeal that we have (keep in mind the car has like 50 miles on it so the pads have hardly any use). He ordered some different pads from Ultima but they specifically say for racing use only. They are Ferodo brand. I'm wondering if they will work well when cold?

They'll take a while to bed in, most decent pads squeal during that phase.

Are the Ferodo pads DS3000s? If so they always squeal from cold, on a road car the DS2500 is a good compromise, but i don't know how good they would be on an ultima.

Mine was quiet for the first few thousand miles. After that, they squeal a bit but not too bad.
