GTO pistons

My mate has a gto 3000 twin turbo, The big ends have gone plus a few other things so he bought an engine for spares but it is a non turbo modle. Would the non turbo pistons be ok to use in the turbo engine or will the compression be to high i dont know the exact figure but it is something like non turbo low 10/1 ish and the turbo is something like mid 8/1 does anyone know the answer ? it is a standard engine..

I don't know the details of the GTO lump, but I'd think it very very unlikly that would work.

This seems the ideal time to get stronger pistons made and turn the boost up.....
