Need to clarify

Hi Guys, after fitting my new water pump and connecting all the hoses, I've noticed that where the bottom hose (from the rad) joins the black metal pipe work, the black metal pipe is about 5mm from the from top of the suspension spring. Now i can't for the life of me remember if this is where it was or if I have moved it. I've tried to get more clearence but to no avail. Don't suppose anyone could check for me on their car what clearance they have? Many thanks, Mark

Just checked on mine: there's about 7cm between the pipe and the spring, and about 2cm between the pipe and the steering rack gaiter. That's with a cold engine, when the system heats up and pressurises, things could move a bit. Have you replaced any hoses? I have a short hose (about 12cm) with a slight bend between the radiator and the pipe, the pipe has its bend at the rear and then a long hose between the pipe and the waterpump. Maybe you've assembled things in another order then they were?
(This how it's done one my car, but every TVR seems to be different).
