Handling and setup

Hi can anyone help. I have a 2.5 GTO and have had the car setup to Nobles specifications ie front 2mm toe out rear 2-3mm toe in. In a straight line at high speed the car feels twitchy and when cornering on fast gentle corners the car feels like it wants to dive into the corner harder and harder. On tight twisty roads it is not so bad and once in the corner grips well. Suggestions please?!

I believe plans are pretty good for this kind of thing

Have you check the tyre pressures ? This can make the world of difference to the way the car handles.

Usually, if the fronts are a tad low you get turn in over stear. Which sound a bit like what you have.

Yes I have tried them at 20 and 30 psi. But now have gone back to 18 and 27 as specified in my manual. I also am wondering if it could be the tyres? Thanks Rod

how long have you had the car ?

has it always done this ?

has the camber been adjusted ?

does it do it cornering in both directions ?

could it could be a worn balljoint(s) ?

I had mine set-up at plans toe and camber, camber may require machining of your uprights but I found that the car handles 100% better (is that possible??) than before and tyre wear has decreased DRAMATICALLY I went through my rear corsas in 2K miles before set-up and now have done 3K + and there's still plenty of meat left.

It seems to re late to becoming worse when I replaced the back tyres. The camber on the car is still 1mm out after set up and the guys who did it suggest replacing the hub assembly on the near side front being the only way to get them bang on. The other strange thing is it almost seems to be a little intermitent and i worse on certain road surfaces. Sounds like plan is the place to go. Thanks for the help so far

Camber isn't adjustable without replace or machining parts.

are they same front to rear ?
