Question.
I plan to fit a new bespoke intercooler ( also, at the same time, shift the air intakes upfront).
What is more important A, Should I ask for a 30% efficiency increase over the existing standard one, or,
B, ask for a 200ltrs of air per second at 6000rpm min spec capacity.
Or are there other considerations I should take into account ?.

The supplier is only 3 miles from my home, The company only manufacture rads and IC's for racing cars, normally according to the customers individual spec.
They have made a really great job of my sons "Drift" car.
Next month I will fit a new exhaust "Roush" plus larger turbos, My local supplier has calculated that he can equal the "Noble upgraded IC" in efficiency, designed into the same package area ( shift the intakes anyway),
all at about 50% cheaper than I am quoted anywhere else.
My supplier has checked the existing "standard" IC on my 3R, with the comment that his depth and section IC's will give at least a 30% efficiency increase.
On the drift car we simply designed and fitted the biggest rad"s, IC and oil cooler that could be packaged.
I just wondered if we could be a little more professional when playing with nobles, But I can not find any specs, therefore I am told what I need, but prefer to know what I need.

ah, I see. You might struggle to get some of the tech specs as the folks who've developed them might stay tight lipped ! I know Paul and a couple of other guys have some data on temp loss/increase from the various model but not sure about flow etc. I certainly dont know it ! Good luck with however you do it
O.
O.Yep I will fit it myself.
The 3r is in little bits in lots of boxes at the moment.
I had the idea to strip off every cheap spec'ed rusty nut bolt, rivet and self taper and replace all fittings with high spec stainless steel, stronger automotive fittings, otherwise the car would eventually fall apart faster than a 1973 vauxhall viva.
But now I decided to rebuild it to about a 500hp spec, then send it up to Noble motorsport for final setup, mapping and traction control. ( my summer project).

Every time i look at my car i think that, the fasteners were going rusty from the day i picked it up new. surely all that stuff is a winter project, you should be playing with it in the summer. The 3r is in little bits in lots of boxes at the moment.

the bottom must've fallen right out of the self tapping screw market now Noble have stopped making the 12

My next project is putting the car on a serious diet. Gonna settle the power at around 390 and then chuck some cash at carbon fibre

ohh, and the medical's booked for the race licence

That and the obvious lack of talent are the only things stopping me applying for mine.ohh, and the medical's booked for the race licence

Haven't been near a doc for about 10 years and not keen to become reaquainted now. Mate of mine went two weeks ago with a sore foot . He now has
diabetes
high colesterol
high blood pressure
and has just had a camera up his bum.
He said the camera was ok it was when the doc pulled the tripod out that his eyes watered
