I was just about to ask the same question!, now answered.
Are there other differences? bigger brakes, anti roll bars. I am assuming that the suspension id probably fairly similar for a one with chilli and a copper with chilli?
Thx
No difference between a One and a cooper, apart from the exhaust systems are different and the cooper is tuned to produce slighty more power. Also of course the trim levels are different, you get a lot more for standard or a reduced rate on the cooper. Are there other differences? bigger brakes, anti roll bars. Thx

put that cai on hold, no point if there is no improvment, get a panel filter
but they do sound good! that's part of it surely? MINIs are like caterhams and porsches.. an excuse to modify your car a bit without looking a c0ck..!Silent1 said:

I think the gear ratios are also different in the Cooper, to give it a more 'sporty' drive..
I'm pretty sure they're not as that would add quite a bit more expense to the production of the car, i'm fairly sure they're the samei am pretty (but slightly less) sure the one d and coopers have exactly the same box as well.

on the CAI debate ive had 2 CAI's on my cooper K&N and pipercross there is no real bhp gain from fitting any filter to cooper pannel or CAI all it dose is smooth the rev range out anyone thinking they will get more then 3 bhp is deluded as there is a great vatiation in the output of a stock mini my car recoreded 130 stock on the rollers at litchefild imports
imo chiping (bluefin) is useless and a waste of money the best solution is a live map done on the rollers as that way its your car mapped to better optimun settings rather than a guess map done to the law of averages
if you whant power do not try the mix and match parts game it will wate you money speak to folk like Roland at GTT who are proper enginiers and can make your car better imo i would simply find a tuner i trust say heres my budget what can you do

Good info but boon the CAI debate ive had 2 CAI's on my cooper K&N and pipercross there is no real bhp gain from fitting any filter to cooper pannel or CAI all it dose is smooth the rev range out anyone thinking they will get more then 3 bhp is deluded as there is a great vatiation in the output of a stock mini my car recoreded 130 stock on the rollers at litchefild imports

also i share your view on these 'standard chips' but for a one they're ideal to unleash the 30 or so bhp, OK they wont give you an optimum fuelling but it'll be close to a standard cooper
