Hello to everyone,i am looking for a weekend car and think the TVR S would fit the bill nicely,i like the look of the silver S3 that is currently for sale on P/heads described as stunning and priced at £5800(does anyone know the car)
Would be grateful for other peoples opinions,is there any thing i should be looking out for or careful of.

I considered this one, but ended up getting a V8S close to home for not much more than this.
I've got a few extra photos that the seller sent me if you want them - though I'm sure the seller will send them to you if you ask.
He referred to a few scratches on the body in the photos he sent me - I haven't seen it in the flesh but I suspect these are gel cracks which is a crack in the GRP body from a previous knock / impact.
Not structurally an issue as the car has a seperate chassis, but cosmetically not great, but you have to bear in mind these cars are a few years old and have been around a bit.
The important thing is the chassis - the S is well known for outriggers dissolving.
The link in the post above has loads of great info.
As this one says it has had a body off chassis restoration this shouldn't be a problem - still worth checking though.

Just had another look at the ad - that is one very clean engine bay

Bishi,

I can throughly recommend an S. I had a 350 wedge before and I can safely say the S is every bit as as fun (and looks better).

Interestingly the performance of the two is pretty similar as well.

The only thing I've done with mine is change the wheels for a set of Chimaera ones, which I think updates the car a bit.

Go for it, the second you drive one you'll know what I mean

Red one looks a stunner - an absolute bargain.

Thanks for all your input,the burgundy V8 just doesn't do it for me i much prefer the look of the silver one although having doubts with the body after the info given by barkychoc.
Anyway family commitments mean no time for looking this weekend may go to look at the silver one next weekend,unless a stunner presents itself in between.

To be honest I don't think its a bad buy, but just make sure you have your eyes open.
The chassis is the crucial element - and this one should be as new if its had a proper job restore.
I wouldn't expect to get a minter unless you're prepared to pay top money.
