Selling the Car!

I haven't been looking forward to this, but the time has come to sell my beloved Noble.
I've been looking at the classifieds and have come up with a price I think she's worth. So now I'm looking for some more opinions before I place an ad.
Brief spec as follows:

Blue GTO3 late 2002 (52 plate), 24,500miles, 6 speed, lsd, trackday sump, just serviced.

Bought the car off DanH nearly two years ago now, so some of you may know it.

Oh, and it still has stripes.

Also advice on "test drives". Has anyone sold a car privately and let the potential buyer drive the car? It's my understanding that they would only be insured third party providing they have thier own car insurance, I think you'd be left high and dry if they did have a shunt.

I took 4 potential customers out in my car and none of them drove it or expected too either.

Oh - pretty much the same spec as my car which sold for 27,500.(except mine had a Roush Exhuast and some tweeking) I had another guy chomping at the bit would you like me to forward you detials to him?

So what are you getting instead? re. test drives, I think you have to be very careful, especially in a car that quick. I wouldn't let anyone drive on the first visit, and if someone is serious they can arrange insurance for the car on the planned day of the transaction and have 2 weeks to cancel the policy afterwards if they find a problem with the car when they test it. Of course you probably want the money at that point just in case...

Anyway if you get lucky like me, it will all be very painless

If they insist on driving, you could suggest they get Day Insurance to cover them. It is fairly low cost (approx £25-£30 IME) and fully comprehensive. An example is here - http://www.norwichunion.com/short-term-insurance/i...

I have emailed the bloke your email address and a link to this thread, his name is Graham - I never actually met him face to face - my brother took him out in my car as I was unable to. If I remeber correctly he was after a GTO3 with 6sp and LSD i.e. the same as mine was.

reckon this might be sold by the time my skyline is sold, as that would be typical of my luck. (its up for sale now).

Titainuim silver, just had major service at Mole Valley afraid no LSD and only 5 speed ,but no problems ,drives superb.
