Throttle linkage improvement

Had my car MOT`d today through Guglielmi Motorsport, Daventry. After passing the boys replaced the trottle linkage with their own little invention.
OH MY GOD ! What a difference. Yesterday I did a 200 mile round trip to Snetterton and the car was superb.
But now .....the difference is a solid, no lag acceleration.
Foot down and it flys !
I cannot believe for a £20 part and about an hours labour how much better it is.
Also saw Foxy 600`s car there being tweaked ! I think you are going to like it Chris

The new linkage sounds a good idea as mine has some wear in the bearings (if that's what you can really call them!!) and I can't get a new one as no longer made. Any chance of a piccy so I can see what it all looks like?

Longers told me about this - he had it done and said the difference was amazing.
I understand that it is for 2.9 only though

Mine still isn't well so I had to endure a chauffered ride in the MX5

or at least some sort of a 'taster' description? Have they reduced the travel?

The S3C is a 2.9 so that's not an issue..

No travel at all ! Thats whats so great. Foot down, instant pull away !
Funny, before the job my pedal felt fine but there was a little 10% of the pedal before the power.

Now.... just power !

Apparently, the `problem` linkage is not on the S4 but on all S`s before.
1,2 & 3 - Worth rining Guili`s to find out. Speak to either Wayne, Dave or Steve.

Injector loom ! Had mine done their too ! (wires cleaned off and refitted)
Foxy600 is currently having this job fixed on his car. I will be interested to hear if this fix`s his idling problem. £100 job. 2 hours work for the garage.

Just been to the garage for another look. Yup, thats the part that was replaced. Maybe it is now the same as your S3C Woody ?
I know that it did change on later models but not sure if it was the S3C or the S4C ! Maybe Longers will explain ? :

I'll try!! The linkage in Woody's pic does look like the new one that was also fitted to my car (cos I'm in between cars at the moment I can't take any pics of it). From memory the original one on my car had a "J" shaped slot and a slightly different spring arrangement rather then the "straight" slot in the pics which meant there was a bit of pedal travel before take off - only after driving my car after the mod did I realise there used to be any travel!! Normally I'm sceptical of someone who says "I can do x,y or z to your car and the difference will be...." but I trust the guys at Gugi's and when they told me it was gonna cost just £20 I couldn't see what I had to loose. I knew I'd won just by reversing the car out of their workshop

Agree. The old plate had a j shape the new one a straight slot.
Maybe the j shape is just on S1`s & S2`s.
But imho its worth driving 2 hours to make the change.
All for approx 60 quid too !
The drive home would certainly put a big smile on your face !
More or less a `fit while you wait repair` ! Approx 45 mins.
