I have just been out for a blast, I have worked out that the best way to drive my car is 2nd, 4th, and 6th!!! It definatley makes better use of the power when pushing along!!!

Did you glance roughly at what rev the change point was and where that sat you in the next even gear?

That's how I drive mine. Too much torque for it's own good.

I have said it already I know but nobody seems to be bothered about building a gear set around the characteristics of their power curve. Why spend a fair chunk on a built engine and not utilize the gearing? It baffles me but until folk except that this should really go hand in hand with upping the power from the motor, it will always be an issue that will not go away.

I will have a look at road speeds and rpm on my next trip out. I have also dropped the rev limiter to 6000 rpm.
