LED front Indicators?? Anyone used any??

Has anyone used LED front indicators in their build? I have LED cluster style lights for all mine except the front indicators... Any ideas?

If I use the factory units then I will need to use balast resistors on all the other lights. I would prefer to use the electronic LED indicator relay I have bought instead..

what about using same lenses but replacing the bulb with an led bulb, hardley any load on them.

Mart. I am using LED on my Sport, using replacements similar to those on DHGTRS link. I am using ballasts, but the blink is all over the shop, wouldn't mind knowing more about the 'electronic LED indicator relay' you are using - could you post a link ?

car builders sloutions catalogue had some in it when i downloaded it

Yes, The electronic indicator relay came from Car Builders Solutions. It's a direct replacement for the standard one, but will only work if all of your indicators are LED. Think I paid £10 for it at Stoneleigh.

If you have a mix of LED and normal bulbs, you have to put a balast resistor accross the LED lights and use a standard flasher relay.

Buying the standard factory lights now and replacing the bulbs with amber LED units. Will hopefully look good!

Most so-called led bulb replacements are not suitable for automotive use as they have a very narrow angle of view and practically dissappear in daylight.
The new Luxeon leds are a different story and I have used these on my car, replacing every conventional bulb except the headlights.

ps. Using ballast resistors defeats the object of changing to leds - you are still consuming the same amount of power and are just converting it to heat instead of light. Use an electronic flasher relay and all your flashing problems go away

Looked at their site. Could only find an 1156 replacement for auto use. Haven't looked to see what all of the bulbs in the GTR are yet. Are they only 1156 size?

These bulbs are great. Come in red, amber and white. Need to be behind a good defusing lens though, as they could be a bit bright. Far superior to filament bulbs.
