Hi guys n gals...

I noticed while driving home this evening that my petrol gauge was going crazy... moving between 1/4 & 3/4 markers. I know I had at least 3/4 tank of juice in there.

It didn't seem to make any difference going around corners, putting my foot down or easing off.

Is this normal and I haven't noticed it in the past 8 months or is something up?

Anyone got any ideas? frown

Thanks

Monkee

It's not normal. Or at least mine doesn't do it. As to what it is I'm sure one of the techies will be along soon with an answer.

Seconded. There's probably a connector near the fuel tank that's corroded.

Spoke to MV who told me just to see how it goes for a few days and report back...
I do trust their judgement but have this niggling feeling I could be doing some damage!

If it's the only gauge that's playing up then I'd guess either :

a) Broken guage
b) Broken sender
c) Bad earth connection

Either way I can't see how it would do any damage. It's just the fuel guage.
