General Hello and help on wing mirrors!

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent addition to the TVR S series faithful having acquired my first S2 last month - all my motoring dreams come true in Monza red! However, now that the initial 24 hour grin has started to finally calm down, I'm highly aware of my duty to keep this beautiful machine in tip top condition..

The previous posts have been very useful, both in learning about things to look for when buying and simply generally learning about the car. However, I think the first job I'm going to tackle are the wing mirrors as they've seen better days. Do I remember someone saying they're from a Renault Clio or did I imagine that? Basically they're rather chipped and are black underneath where the red paint has come off, is it worth touching up (if so, is there a match for TVR Monza red in shops?) or is it easier to just buy a new set?

Would appreciate any comments at all!

There are off a Citroen CX I believe.
Someone will come along shortly with a definitive answer!

Various models of mirrors fitted, I still haven't figured out what mine are off (squarish and same as the wedge non-faired in ones).

Most of them are Citroen CX as BC says, but not necessarily all. It's a TVR after all.

Monza red! Nice choice

Good luck with the mirrors - lots of people have upgraded them to ones that you can actually see out of, rather than stick with the original ones. There are a few previous threads on this that might give you some useful info if you do a search on this forum.

The XJ 220 cough-citroen cx-cough mirrors were fitted to the later cars but I think there were a few types over the entire production run...how about a picture so we can have a look?
