Aerodynamics of a brick - and I thought that a Land Rover was bad...

Having driven the G Wagen I have to say that it's a truly great car - the idea of having hardly any bent panels so that you can cut sheets of ally to repair it was excellent (although this one seems to have some bends in it!). It's what the Defender always could have been. As for aerodynamics - have you ever seen the drag factors on an F1 car? Power compensates for a great deal!

The drag factors on an F1 car are due to the wings providing downforce and the open wheeled design.
On the "Oh my 'G'-od why did they do that?" Wagen the high drag is caused by it being an ugly barn on wheels.

Why do they style big luxury off-roaders to look like public transport?

Range-Rovers look like Metro Cabs, and the G-Wagen is only lacking the yellow paint job to give it that classic 'school bus' look.
