At risk here of posting the nerdiest question ever, but my exchaust outlets (Gt3 Mk 2) are corroded, where as some cars have nice and shiny ones. Are they different, or will mine polish up? If so, what might I use to get that gleaming look?

Good metal polish will do the trick - Autoglym do one, or toothpaste.

I wouldn't waste your time. I spent a whole afternoon once polishing up my turbo ones and it didn't go ONE JOT faster.

If it's really reall bad, you wire wool..get the finest grade you can '00' I think and get rubbing with some metal polish. It works a treat...It's how all the professionals polish metal!

depends what finish they are - if they're brushed wire wool with T-Cut or if they're polished soft cloth and T-cut

will take a while

I read about this on the internet and tried it. Baking power (bicaronate of soda) teaspoonful in a bit of water, rub on with a cloth and leave overnight sorted mine.

Thanks all for feedback. After experimenting with various suggestions, Mr Muscle oven cleaner did do the trick, without me having to do any work. Strong stuff.
