After two years away, the Ginetta Broomstick returned to active duty at Fintray last weekend.

The one thing we did learn is that two-year-old Super Unleaded loses it's 'super' parts and, when left in the fuel tank, is not condusive to smooth running....

... which is his excuse for not being able to get anywhere near my best times!!

On an aside ... Any Ginettae coming up to Kames for the Ecosse challenge may wish to know there is a double header hill climb at Fintray (near Aberdeen) the following weekend. Obviously bombing round Scotland with a trailered Ginetta on one's tow bar is not condusive to ease of movement, but if anyone wants to take in both events, they are more than welcome to leave trailers with us for a week - we have oodles of room, are safe in the country, and are 30 minutes from Fintray - and the cars will be in good company with Gs32, 21 and Dare 4!

I hear BO'NESS hill climb is going to reopen... big reunion there tomorrow 17th.

With all the crap down here - we even have Scottish weather now! - sounds like North of the Border is the place to be

Be careful John, there is nothing wrong with Scottish weather - what you have at the moment is English weather...

You are really quite wrong about Bo'ness Hillclimb, as there is now a huge housing estate where it used to be. The BRDC are having a lunch at the Champany Inn to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Bo'ness Hillclimb - if you know anything about the Champany, you will also know how wealthy BRDC members are...

Haa I hadn't thought of it like that Dave, it's English weather we're getting down here - logical really!

Got me knickers in twist, I didn't mean the hill climb was reopening (although that's basically what I said (?!) wobble, I meant a reunion was taking place there - at the Courtyard, Kinneil, - it is still possible despite the housing development to 'walk' virtually the whole of the hill climb track, and retrace your steps via the original return road.

A few nice cars turned up apparently at the Courtyard today (inc 1948 Hopper Special driven all the way there from London) and over 100 people.

Re The Champany -
that's a 'posh' restaurant isn't it?
not welcome to 'hill' walkers hehe

Incidentally, that's a really nice piccy of the Broomstick (any copyright on it?)
- 32 is now a classic looker, beginning to wish I'd bought Scott Bailie's.

Is that a Ford blue?

I think a credit to the photographer James Stewart is all thats required - and of course it's a lovely piccie - he's a lovely Toy Boy (car not driver!)!

My recollection is it's Paris Blue, the original colour, tho whether it's Ford I don't know.

Paris Blue was a colour in the Volvo range and was used on the Volvo 480, but whether that is the same shade as shown on this car I am not sure.
