Hi Everyone,

First post as am a new mini owner! I bought myself a 1991 Cooper S, John cooper conversion job. Nice drive! Has full elather interior, 100% wooden dash and trim on the doors!

The first 2 weeks of ownership have been turbulent, I had all the keys for it stolen so had to get new ones cut for the doors and ignition. However not the petrol caps (twin tanks), so need to break of the old ones and buy new ones! Where is the best place to get value for money caps that look good?

Also i'm looking at getting fog lights, probably x4 across the front, any good deals anywhere at the moment?

Theres a few other things I want to sort with my mini but I wont bore anyone with those details just yet... Maybe tomorrow! Haha.

Nice to have you on this forum and welcome to our little fraternity.
I've just got a complete 'S-Works' engine back from the machine shop where it was bored out to 1330 and the proper rebuild starts on Friday. Delivery to the customer is next week. I improved the head casting gas-flowing a bit more as well.
Your car sounds really nice.
With regard to the spotlights, personally I never like the 4 small spots across the front. They always look like toys to me. But then, my 1964 'S' has two 7.5" Cibie Super-Oscar spots with 100W bulbs and they not only look good, but are very effective. The Mayfair my Grandson is currently restoring will have what I always think are the best looking spotlights for any Mini, 2 off Lucas SLR700 Lucas spots, just like the 60's works cars had. They work well with halogen bulbs (need a special adaptor, but you can make these yourself) and look fantastic. The brackets are easy to make yourself and I bolt them on using rivnuts through the front panel.
Post a photo of your car on here for us all to see. We are a mine of information if you get any problems.
Good luck with your nice car.
