Just changed to this.

Amazing policy. Agreed value pay out and fully comprehensive on ANY vehicle!!!

Same price as Tesco. Only applicable to cars worth over £30k. I know some of the Fezza and Lambo boys are insured with these guys.

Went through quantum plc.

having a thick moment...

do this mean you are insured to drive fully comp on any car above £30k with an agreed value payout if it is a total loss for any reason?

Good morning Vesusius.

I've had a quick look at the Chubb website and searched for Quantum. Is it the Quantum in Wandsworth and did you have to take the home insurance from Chubb, as their website suggests to qualify for this policy?

I'm with Privilege at the moment with a very reasonable premium. Did you by any chance get a quote from them for comparison?

It does look a fantastic policy.

Thank you,

Orange.

It means I am fully comp on my car. Total loss = £30k payout.

In relation to the fully comp on any vehicle I borrow or rent, I think it's market value, but FFS that's got to be better than third party only!!!!

I pay £1600 a year at the moment with Tesco.

Chubb is about another £100.

You don't have to take the home insurance as well.

Hmm - I pay £600 for my GT3 with A-plan. £1700 pa doesn't sound overly exciting to me - but then again, I'm tight!!

Slight aside, but I have all my cars insured with Chubb. This morning I have taken a knackered old Jeep Cherokee for bodywork repair ("But it hasn't got parking sensors" she said...arghh) and they arranged a brand new BMW 3 lite M sport thingy as a hire car. Seems like a good swap to me. Hope the repair takes a while.

BUT if your nice GT3 gets written off you'll get a sh1tty settlement from the insurers. Chubb offer a pay out of an agreed sum. It therefore removes the need for GAP insurance as well.

I pay a fortune for insurace because I live in East London Tower Hamlets. I reckon this Chubb deal is awesome.

Now all I need to do is find someone to lend me their F40!!!

out of interest how do you agree the value?

I take it it's not OPC trade in values

Effectively I told them what I wanted it to be. If it's heavy then the premium is more, if it's light the premium is less.

I set mine at OPC replacement value for one same age and mileage, so if ever mine get nicked or written off I can just go to OPC and buy another one.

I joined APLAN a while back, now down to £599 on my 996TT :YIKES: ! They tend to use the big fleet insurers, never heard of payout issues yet.......

I don't for one minute suggest that they don't pay out.

My worry is that if my car got written off they'd pay "market value" only which is effecitvely book trade value. The shortfall would have to be paid by me to the finance company.

With Chubb, I can just march into OPC and buy another one because I will get a cheque for the value I have agreed with them.

In other words, the agreement with Chubb is that is the car is a total loss they send me a cheque for £30k.

I also have my cars insured with Chubb. The agreed value element of the policy is its best feature, in my view, particularly when insuring very valuable cars. The standard of service is also second to none.

Re cover levels, the policy I have (Masterpiece) allows me to drive any other car fully comprehensive (on my policy), and any person to drive my cars (with my permission of course) fully comprehensive (on my policy). There are no value limits.

Kind regards

I'm with CHUBB on my 996 GT2. Bought it through a cheam brokers who were excellent. I agree with the other guys re agreed settlement value. This is in my opinion worth the extra premium for peace of mind. Mine also includes european cover.
