An alternative use for your old exhaust.
Discussion
If anyone has a spare exhaust system and is wondering what to do with it, I can confirm that the silencers and tail pipes make excellent containers for storing acorns.

Do I detect a squirrel infestation? Or are you on hard drugs?

Neither actually Chris, it was mice. I have a loft above my garage and keep all of the boxes which I don't immediately need, up there. The exhaust system has been in the loft, inside a cardboard box, for the best part of a year and lay undisturbed until yesterday. Having "lost" the box with my traction control system in it (which I know I put in a safe place but can't for the life of me think where), I was going through all of the boxes only to be met by a scene of devastation when I got to the one with the exhaust in it. There must have been at least 200 acorns packed inside the silencers and tail pipes together with a congealed mass of shredded bubble wrap, acorn shells and excrement. Oh, and two mice. My belief is that the mice had clocked the very slow progress of my build and decided to set up home for a few years as the exhaust system clearly wouldn't be wanted before the London Olympics at the earliest. They are now homeless, thoroughly p***ed off but otherwise unharmed.
