Would appreciate any suggestions where to park near the Guild Hall one evening this weekend.

My garage?

ETA: I'm going to see Derren Brown on Sunday, I live a couple of miles away.

Safest car park would be gun wharf, about 10 minutes walk from Guildhall, mail me if you think I can help.

Seconded on Gunwharf Quays; not sure there's anywhere else public.

I was in their office the other day to sort out a 36 hour parking fee; they use ANPR as part of their security. Not sure it's linked to the DVLA database though.

We are also going to see Derren Brown but I’m going to try and make it down in the afternoon so we can have a look around and grab a meal before the show. Thanks for the offer of your garage Jamie but I think the Gunwharf Quays will be fine. We saw Derren last year and the Mrs got picked out to go on stage. She was under his spell immediately and he was very impressive.

I would have seen her then, been to the last two (three?) shows there.

Gun Wharf is easily your best bet, there's often supercars in there anyway.

I'm parking in Portsmouth in July on a day trip to the IoW. The Wightlink website says that the Gun Wharf car park will be closed at peak periods - which is when i'm going.

So where else is there to park?

Only means it'll be closed if it's full, which doesn't happen that often.

There's plenty of pay and display parking in Old Portsmouth where pretty much any car would be safe, it's easy walking distance to the IoW terminal. E-mail me if you'd like a map.
