Any way why I logged on today, now having had some fun at poor ebay Muppet.

I have an early 944 1982, no fancy 16v, turbos and the like good honest and robust.
However it has had some face lifting and an excellent respray back to the shiniest of Guards Red. What it needs now to show off the new wheels are some updated discs and callipers, I was thinking could I fit Boxster S callipers and discs. Any one out there changed the set up on an early 944, don't get me wrong they really stop it, but just don't do it in the glamour stakes. This is not a quick car, but to see it and hear it you wouldn't think so. Maybe the next project is to get some more ponies under the bonnet, but lets wait and see.

Thanks for any advice, idea of cost would be useful and whether this is a Sunday morning job or one for the garage?

Does anyone know if 944 turbo/s2/964 calipers fit? If so I have a set on ebay finishing soon.

Also a pair of 964 300mm disks if they fit.

Looked at ebay, didn't see much, but on 2nd viewing there are some brakes on there, a front and rear set but just 1 side?? Will look for yours too.

You can put 4 pot calipers form the S2/Turbo on the early cars . But you have to change the stub axles and other assorted parts iirc.

Another alternative for the front callipers are Wilwood Dynapro 4 pots, lovely looking, weight about 5 lb less than stock, and are available from a couple of people: Promax in the UK I think, from Rennbay in the US, or, obviously, direct from Wilwood. They have fewer servicing issues than the Turbo/S2 units, and I can swap pads for track days in 4 Minutes, and that includes taking the wheels off. ... and wishbones and hubs and uprights and (I think) front shocks and springs.

Buy an S2 or Turbo, and get the right bits already attached. Saves the expense of Stage 2 (more ponies) as well.

Quite correct, early car has different offset so the front is; Legs, springs, tops, wishbones hubs discs, callipers, flexis, wheels etc. Rear will be hubs, maybe brackets, discs, callipers, wheels etc. A lot of work, it's fairly major on a post 86 car as mine has S2 corners.

Thanks guys.
Should have hung on for that Turbo! but I was just too woried about Turbo failure on a 15 year old car.
Still the html[/url] option if they confirm it will fit 82 website says 83 onwards could be the way forward
