Can anyone tell me whether they've had good experience of a reliable independent in the South Wales / Cardiff Area?

Not sure of Cardiff / South Wales but if Bristol isn't too far then I'd recommend Porschmode (no affiliation). Have seen everything from 73RS to 996 in there (you didn't say what you drive)

It's a Boxster. Bristol is not too far away - worth considering but there must be something closer.

There's RS Porsche in Penarth, P & J Motors in Fairwater, Welsh Porsche Specialists in Pyle and finally Discount Nine AutoTech in N. Cornelly (Porthcawl)

Thanks for the list - would you recommend any in particular?

Used all of them over the years with no real issues whatsoever! Would probably recommend Discount Nine over the others, they also break cars, not literally of course, and supply second hand parts mail order! Good guys!!

Had a major service and quite a bit of additional work done by Welsh Porsche about two months ago but I've been told they've closed down. Shame if they have as they knew their stuff.

Welsh Porsche have now shut down. Try RS Porsche, Dave Coombes. He used too service my 993 and has a host of knowledge of Porsche.
