For those of you running non-factory seats, what brand/model are you running? How is the fit?
For those of you running the factory seats, how comfortable are they? I am a pretty short /skinny guy and most of the racing seats I have sat in are fine, but I have sat in a few that where really uncomfortable.

I'm about the same size. I find the factory seats to be comfortable and supportive. Easily the most comfortable car seat I have sat in (though they do take a bit of getting out of 
) and a lot better than any other "race" seat. My brother is a lot skinnier than me and he also found the seat to be comfortable. It comes with adjustable lumbar support which is a lot less gimicky than I thought it would be too.

Sat in the CanAm the other day for the first time with the cockpit finished.
I'm 5'11", and right now 193#'s. Seat bolted down, 6 point harness installed, pedals modified, and dead pedal installed. We have the Utima seats,and the first thing I noticed was how comfortable the seat and seating position was. I have Corbeau seats in the racing Cobra, and I think the Ultima seat which has the same "holding" design, is a little more comfortable because it's slightly more reclined.
Can't wait to experience this comfort on the track!!

At this point I don't think it's worth spending the money to have the factory seats shipped over. I was thinking about the new corbeau FX1. The link is to the seat dimensions. Anyone know the dimensions of the stock seats.

Thanks Steve. I didn't think they would fit. I am guessing the factory seats are a pretty tight fit and that there isn't much room left between the 2 seats or between the seat and the side of the car.

They fit like a 'Terry Clip'.
This expression may be lost on you as Terry clips may be a UK thing. You probably have a similar product. If you wanted to hang a broom handle on your garage wall you would use a pair of terry clips (made from spring steel). when screwed to the wall you just press the broom handle into the clips and they spring around it and grip.
The factory seats do the same to your butt.

I am pretty sure the FX1's are to wide. Tommorow I am going down to a store that stocks the complete sparco line. I will probably take a few home to see which ones fit. I'll post my findings. After talking to jeff it seems only a few seat will be skinny enough to fit.

I drove down to VA this weekend to check out ogracing. www.ogracing.com They are one of the few places I found that actually stock the entire sparco line. Long story short after drooling over the expensive seats a settled on their lower end ultra seat. It's a fiberglass shell FIA homologated seat. Looks better in person than it does in the pictures. The fit is perfect. See below pictures. As for comfort, they fit me very well. They are very narrow around the rib cage area so if you a big guy you probably wouldn't fit. I am about 5'6" 150 lbs and they fit is snug. Seats where 329 each + 45 for the slider (us dollars).

Although you are going your own way with the seat type it may still be worth getting the factory to fax you the seat mounting hole positions in the floor pan.
You will be suprised how far they point inwards. Also the passenger seat is positioned further to the outside than the drivers, probably so you can get your knuckles round the handbrake lever.

i am fitting ultima supplied seats this weekend, but the handbrake lever appears to foul the driver seat. the factory drilled the floor holes so they should be perfect. the driver seat clearances are about 0.5" between seat and gear shift linkage, and about 1" between seats at the front end. the situation could be resolved if the 'handbrake off' position was above seat level. the gold coloured fixing bracket is already on the near-side of the chassis fixing lug. any experience with this? thanks.
My handbrake is in the middle of the car, and I have the factory supplied center-cover. The seats, drilled to the factory specs, were jammed tight against the center cover. I ended up enlarging the floor pan holes slightly and moving the seats outwards, and using large washers to cover the enlarged holes. Not an ideal outcome.
I think the factory seats are fantastically comfortable. The only problem is on a really long drive (3+ hours) where the fact that I can't move around much means my butt gets sore.

This is the same problem I'm up against at the moment. I have a centre change Getrag box with the factory supplied gearlever/handbrake consul. I have drilled the seat holes as per factory spec and the seats are jammed up against the centre consul, Ive tried to angle the seats, to get a better fit, but as it's a CanAm the shoulder wings of the seat foul against the roll bar bracing bar restricting movement.
I'm currently looking at angling the whole of the gear lever mounting platform to the left, then maybe I can get the seat in a comfortable position. Just not too sure how the centre consul will look with half of it going off centre!! One things for sure though, it's uncomfortable as it is, your body one way and your legs going another!!
