Hi everyone,

Wondering if G27 V8 and G33 owners can tell me who they're insured with and under what circumstances please?
Need to sort something more permanent out for my new baby: www.pistonheads.com/sales/164735.htm

Thanks in advance!

First couple of years I was with Adrian Flux - £225 or there abouts, just renewed with Hagerty as they insured a modified G33 and a Chim 500 for £425 for both !! Restricted to 3K miles per annum but agreed value, must be a second car.

Congratulations on becomming a G33 owner. Are you the pepole that sat in my G33 at Stoneleigh?

I insure with Peter Best. £180 pa including european breakdown cover 5000 miles pa. They were about £50 cheaper than Adrian Flux.

Nick, not me at Stoneleigh, haven't been for a few years.

Thanks for the tips, Hagerty came in at £193, but Peter Best came in at £185 with free european breakdown cover and 5000 miles p.a.
NICE!

You obviously had competition then, because a couple sat in my car, and they were off to buy the one for sale on pistonheads that week. Looks like you beat them too it.

Think i beat a lot of people to it - that's why i pulled all out all the stops to drive 300 miles with a pile of cash!
Worth every penny (and then some!).
Thanks again for the tip on the insurance

That was a 'very' good buy - you could pay that for a G15 or a pile of tintop crap!

Try and think of a comparable sports car for that money with that power ...and those LOOKS!

Hard eh?

Lack of being plastered over EVO and other rubbish every month sometimes really helps buyers,
possibly not sellers though irked

I think i was unusually lucky with the purchase but then i did put in some effort

I haven't stopped grinning since i bought the thing, it's wonderful!

I simply can not believe how much positive attention this car generates - i've owned it five days and done 500 miles and i've simply lost count of how many smiles and waves and beeps and thumbs up i've received. Never had anything like it in kit cars, Chimaeras, or 911s.

I did speak to the guy, saying it was underpriced (I have a vested interest- not wanting to see the marque values drop). He simply said he had simply taken a couple of years depreciation off what he had payed for it, not realising they dont really depreciate !

Hi VS,

I used to own that G33, from 1993 to around 2000. Paid £11,500 when bought from the then second owner. IIRC, I sold it for around £6k though needed some mild TLC after spending a long time on SOR with Team Central (TVR), before they went bust. So the miles are genuine.

It's the loudest car I've owned - could hear the rumble come from a long way, away!

Hope you enjoy it.

Wow, small world indeed - i have (as far as i can tell) all the documentation the car has ever had, from the first owner's purchase receipt to the new wheel bearings i put on it on Tuesday!

It needs a respray because the bonnet is slightly darker than the rest of the car and the chassis needs a good clean and paint this coming winter, but it's a cracking car.

Do you have any pictures of it from your period of ownership?

The bonnet colour mismatch may be down to a respray on it. When I has having the car transported back to Glasgow from Team Central (Birmingham), the delivery driver did not check bonnet was secured properly. It flung open in transit and caused stress cracks on both sides, around wheelarches. Annoying as the car was in superb cosmetic condition and just the mechanics needed some TLC after not moving much in several years.

Subsequently, I sent the G33 to a Ginetta specialist in England, who sold it on my behalf and may have carried out the work for new owner.

Anyway, yes I have lots of pics from my ownership. Send me your address via PH and I'll mail some to you.
