Pimlico - any advice...?
Discussion
I'm thinking about converting my Mini into a Pimlico, has anyone got any advice for me?
For those of you who don't know, look here
Has anybody done this before, I am thinking of the converstion as I have quite a rusty shell to patch up, and I fancy the idea of an open car that won't rust again
All help gratefully received.

I thought about the saloon body, but my mini has no heater, and the engine is quite lumpy at low revs, so it is hardly the most practical daily car (I have a company one for that) so I thought in for a penny etc, and have a quick, rustfree open car (I think I'm a frustrated Moke owner at heart )
Costs wise, I am waiting to hear back from them, I believe that the cost of the kit is in the order of £1500 ish.

Be prepared for alot of work, its not quite as simple
as you first think. Being GRP EVERYTHING is thicker
then the standard mini, so bolts that would normally
be long enough now arn't. I have heard the bonnets
are very think and have supports in places where
you need space for engine parts. Other things that
_SHOULD_ fit don't.
It will also be as heavy as a normal mini, they
are alot thicker then my minus and have more metal
strenthening in them. Overall though GO FOR IT they
are very nice when done. But hey I'm a plastic car
junkie. Westy, Espace, Minus I don't own a metal
bodied car! (Ok the scamp is but its alu).
Do you have all the various mini mag articles on
them? If not I proberly have.
