When I was at TVR a Swedish chap called Hans called me to help him record TVR exhaust notes for a CD he was making. I'll admit to being a little bemused about how this CD might turn out but it arrived in the post the other day and I found it fascinating.
That somebody from a country where TVRs are a rare curiosity has managed to collate this lot is some achievement I reckon!
There are over 20 different TVR models recorded on the CD. There are some sound samples at www.tvrpassions.com
If you're reading this, nice one Hans!

I already got my hands on a copy (from the Swedish Club). Get in contact with them or push the U.K. Club to get it in there soon.
When played in a proper eqiupment some tracks are really... Jesus, that Race Tuscan!
The Chimaera rock is quite catchy, would be fun to hear it on the radio some day.

Mines on there somewhere.
At Harewood a few of us went off with Hans to do some recordings on a "private track".
Notice the pics have been used too.
He did promise a free cd, not recieved it yet though...
I do remember us getting a bollocking for whispering too loud, his microphone was very sensitive
Off to play the free 'teasers' now

Thanks for everyones comments so far. First of all, the CD is of course only made for those who are addicted to motor sounds, all other 99,9% of the population will naturally think this is the weirdest thing they have ever heard, and that is perfectly in order.
When to play the CD? Playing it in your own TVR while driving doesn’t quite work, I have also tried that. But when the top is down at a parking lot it works better.
Playing it in a normal silent car works if silent enough but ideally the CD should be enjoyed in a silent environment while playing it in a good quality equipment.
If living in an apartment the CD can also be useful if you think your neighbour is a little loud. ;-)
Everone that participated in the Harewood recording session will get a free CD and today I posted CDs to Chris and Oliver. I had so much else to think of during the recordings so I never noted addresses of you that participated but just mail me with some details of the recording that only you can know, then I will send a CD to you.
No more comments about the Good luck – Chimaera rock? I had a word with one of the chaps that used to work at TVR and he played that track for some of his old TVR-buddies. Big smiles all over and after a while a chorus wherte shouting:
Chimaeraaa-aaa-aaa, Chimaeraaa-aaa-aaa, Chimaera, star mist blue Chimaeraaa-aaa-aaa...
I’ve been thinking about writing a little story about how the CD was made, also in English. (Right now there is a story in the Swedeish Sprint over here) anyone interested in reading a little more about all the work I put in to this weird project?
Again, thanks Phil for helping me out with the Sagaris. Chris and Oliver thanks for blasting by the mike with your cars.

Just checked the teasers, technically they do work. Then they are of course quite compressed and computer loudspeakers usually do not give the mighty sound of a proper HiFi equipment.
Don't forget that the play button has to be pressed twice. Couldn't find a way around that, seem to be something Microsoft has put into the software...
If playing over a narrow line, each teaser takes a little while to load, be patient.

I just received my copy of TVR Passions yesterday and I must say it is an excellent compilation!!
I do think that a CD like this has a purpose. I can imagine myself listening to it on a cold winters night dreaming about the summer to come. Now I can also beat my friend who has a CD with Ducati motorbike sounds on it. TVR rules!
