GT 3 RS delivery dates

Does anyone have a confirmed delivery date for the 2008 build yet.
No amount of correspondance with my dealer will get them to give me a clue as to when I will get my car.They will only confirm that I am getting one, just wondered if anyone knew any more

I was under the impression that the OPCs had not been given their allocation from PCGB yet.

That is what I am being told so I guess its true, I just thought I had seen some people quoting delivery dates for their cars for next year.
Does anyone know when these figures
are released to the opc's

There are no 08 builds. 08 Model Year yes. Last build is August this year.

That's the word on the street.

So if they are all built in August does this mean they could all be collected by the end of the year or will they sit on them for a bit just for the hell of it

I assume this only applies to RS cars. What's the word on the street regarding non-RS GT3 numbers and deliveries?

The information that I have been given regarding this (comes from my OPC) is that Porsche are not building any 997GT3 (non-RS) in 2008 either. There will be a further allocation later this year and that is it. There will be some cars delivered in 08 but they would have been built in 07.

Only time will tell how accurate this information is.

I read elsewhere that GT3 production was also ending shortly, but perhaps with a second series in a couple of years. Not sure if this is correct though.

a couple of people have told me that there is now a 6 month break in GT3 production and that the market will not therefore grow much for a while.Can that be true?Surely some are due to have GT3's delivered over the summer?anyone?

Yes it's the same build programme for the GT3. They caught a cold with residuals on the 6 GT3 MK2 and they have limited production on the 7 to little over double that of the RS.

A dealer will hold a car indefinitely so long as you've paid for it.

I only agreed the final spec on my GT3 last month for June build July delivery, so not stopped yet. Although have been informed that the production is stopping.

from build in the factory to delivery in UK takes about 4 weeks.

Mine was built on 16th April put on a transporter on the Thursday and was at Reading OPC on Friday 19th I could have picked it up on the Monday but choose Tuesday 24th instead. Thats 7 days from build date !
