Discussion

Can;t really get anything from Mini 2.
I want some improved brake pads for my Works GP for track use, also soem braided hoses. Does anyone know of any available???
Also tyres, I would like track day tyres, but there seems to be none available in a replacement size, anyone have any ideas of what I can do???
Cheers Sean

Brakes you will struugle with, as i dont know of any aftermarket manufacturers that make uprated pads for the GP. The hoses front my only suggestion is try some goodridge ones for the normal mini if not custom is the only way.
Track tyres only ones anywhere close will be toyo 888`s at a guess, but they will be 225 width at a guess which might cause rubbing issues on the rear

I have heard the Calipers on the GP are made by AP, can anyone confirm this and if so what model AP they are.

Dont think so TBH, the brakes were always made by Ate but i could be wrong an they could have changed it for the works one, the works motorsport ones which are four piston ones used on the challenge cars are made by AP for definate
Apparently the new R56 drilled discs from the new jcw brake kit fit as i have seen a GP with them fitted an you can use the R56 S pads as there the same fitment but different compund, this will probably cause some head scratching by your parts department

Ok just back from 2 days at Spa
Car works great. In the end I put a set of Toyo 888's on the car size 225/40 R18 and the good news is there was no rubbing at all the the tyres worked really well. Bad news is there is a lot of tyre noise, but the extra grip is worth is.
Bad nes, the standard brakes are rubbish. The front discs are warped.
But hey lots of great fun, and passed a lot of more expensive machinery...
