OMG this thing is far better than I thought it would be now that I've driven it about a bit. How can 100Kgs and ~50lbft make such a difference? It's stellar. I'm certainly not going to be able to drive it very had in the wet, but in the hot sunny days we've had so far this week it's a little edgy but I don't think I'm feeling much slower than the turbo through the corners, in fact a little faster in due to the better front end performance just a bit more circumspect on the mid corner throttle.

Streaking away into the distance by comparison on the straights though

Brakes working fine but I'm not confident in them, they rumble slightly when they're hot...

Anyhow, in summary, the tits.

Remind me, why do people buy GT3s? lol.

Because they are different. Glad the GT2 floats your boat, but on mist UK roads, I'd get into a lot of trouble with a 2! I like listening to the 3 at 7,500 rpm too.

a GT3 at 7500 rpm has, in my opinion, the best "real world" car sound track out there.

hell, even sitting at idle and blipping the throttle it sound gorgeous

Have it fettled my friend, then you will really have a very proper car.

The suspension setup with the GT3R rear control arms has transformed my car.. GT3 handling with monster power/torque.

I can vouch for Supermono's comment ~ I'm a 35yo girlie, had all sorts of cars from Escort Cosworths, Subaru STi Type R's, umpteen 911's and finally, last week I just bought myself a 996 03 GT2. Yeah baby :-) ! Love the car to pieces!

Looking to get along to some Porsche or motorsport events this summer ...can anyone suggest any good ones??

Victoria.

Hmmm. After giving it a bit of a brush up I couldn't help taking out for a hurl.

I've noticed some oddness around the straight ahead position of the wheel. It's rock solid as soon as you start a proper turn in but pansying about it seems slightly vague and gets pulled a little one way and the other with ruts etc on less than perfect roads.

It had a geomoety setup before I got it and I doubt there's any wear. So is this normal?

Also, if you get on the power early in the turn it seems to want to understeer a bit before the *big* power causing the inevitable oversteer.

Still getting used to it though.

Tell you what, it's a proper beast and I LOVE IT!

IME Set your tyre pressures to recommended after leaving it over night in a cold garage and not moving it. GT2 for normal road use can be vague if tyres are either worn or pressures not balanced.

OK, I'm being a technophobe girlie now ~ how do you insert pics on here? I have a question to ask you boys but I need to post a pic for illustration purposes??

BTW ~ love the vibe on here! Several posts had me in bits! Very good!

Firstly the image needs to be hosted with a web address. If you haven't done this, try using www.photobucket.com

Once you've done this

[pic] webaddress.jpg [/pic] without the spaces.

Note, when posting if you look to the left of the box there are three links, one of which is the formatting codes for messages.

JW.

Welcome to PH ! Try this to post images : -

Go to www.tinypic.com (No need to register/login or any such nonsense)

Click the "Browse" button, this will allow you to view the photos in your picture file.

When you've found the picture you wish to upload highlight it by left clicking on it.

Then press "Open" followed by the "Upload Image" button.

(depending on file size the upload may take between 10 seconds and 2 minutes !)

When it has uploaded the three choices of URL appear in boxes. Cut and paste from the middle box titled "IMG Link: for forums and bulletin boards" into this reply box (ie the one you normally type your text into) and submit as normal. No need to bother with putting [pic] or [IMG]at the start and end of the URL either.
