blagging a ride?
Discussion
Im really keen to get a ride for myself, biz partner and missus in a nice dream car during the weekend, either down the strip, or the saturday night stratford cruise.
Any offers? I will either donate a prize for ted to have in a compo, or give 30% off ANYTHING on my stand? (m/bike related goodies)
Ive owned TVR's in the past so..
Im looking for ferrari, Lambo, dodge viper, ac cobra , jag 220 etc
Anyone want offer a seat to 3 grateful little folk?
thanks

SOLD!!
actually, to get away from my own greed for a moment, why dont we PHers, offer our spare seats out in a "auction" with the proceeds going to charity, little "thankyou" presentation sunday? mr PistonFest?
If you two could come and find me at the bikesport stand saturday or sunday and "drag" me away when your ready? thanks

s2ooz,
Regarding your suggestion about auctioning the rides in other people's cars, unfortunately we shall not be able to have any involvement in this, for insurance
purposes- basically as soon as we get involved in "selling" rides in other people's cars, we open a whole "can of worms" for ourselves, and for the
owners too, because the vehicle then becomes used for business purposes, and the insurance implications, in the event of any possible accident, then become very complicated & potentially costly also.
Hopefully you understand our position, and we are sorry but will have to decline your invitation on this occassion.

S2ooz, you turned down one of the most beautiful pieces of finest Italian machinery (with 4 seats) for Yank tank with a truck engine?
IMHO the 456 is only second to an Enzo - maybe even First. I came close to buying a 400i before my first TVR but when I saw what was under the bonnet I sh*t myself - too risky.

OK- let's not have a pissing contest! I'm happy to do passenger rides as obviously is Viper. Don't know about you but apart from the social side, the attraction of events like this is getting up close to all sorts of exotica.
Dodger- track me down and we'll appreciate the, ahem, performance characteristics of five and a half litres of Maranello muscle.

ooooooh! thanks Kevin. I will certainly look out for you - well, the car anyway 'cos I don't know what you look like! What colour is it? - blue?
Viper - Lamborghini? - OK Tractor engine!
(only kidding - Big is the new Black and "there ain't no substitute for extra cubes"!) Will hunt you down too if I can.

Ive turned down nothing!! I ideally want THREE seats, one for me, and one for biz partner, and third for g/f.
is the 456 a 4 seater then?
So first dibs on the 456 AND the viper
I will return the favour in my astra club automatic.. "mmm feel the quality of that plastic" you'll exlaim.
I might even take the bike tho, currently tuned for 0<60 in under 2 secs and nothing to hold onto.
Oooohhhh Oooohhhh [hyperventilating] Oooohhh Ooohhh
This is my first post. Long time lurker, but only now have I been struck enough to register and post. Why? Dream Rides!!!
I have nothing to offer in return , but I'm sure some of you wonderful people with European exotica (or be it American grunt) will offer me a minute or two of passenger time in your incredible motors in return for the privilege of helping a motoring skinty experience some serious petrol pleasure.
I've never been in a Ferrari - and a ride in a modern Ferrari would be wonderful. Anyone here with a 360 (dream car) willing to give me a spin (literally, if necessary)??
And Viper, you have great taste. Most who go American settle for a 'Vette or an older standard Viper - but noooo, you have to go all insane GTS on us.
*sigh*
I'm expecting PF to be like a Motorshow, with the difference being you can get up close and personal to the motors and chat with their owners, who by the sounds of things are more than happy to talk about their machinery and associated anecdotes.
Yes, yes, I am wanting to be there...

so, :stupidquestionmodeon: How do you steer the bugger then ??? :stupidmodequestionoff:
It's all done by the direction you lean your body...............best not to do it after a few beers tho!
Hi, back from the hols..
I was referring to offering a lift to a passenger.. they have nothing to hold onto!
<2 secs - chip the ECU, sports can, lower the cog on the front for less teeth.. this was the most effective. less top speed, but better oomph!!
