The number 1276 rings a bell for some reason.
your sat there with a Porsche encyclopedia arent you....
its the only explination for all these knowledable posts..
I'm probably wrong. Probably got some bits on my other post wrong, too. But what's the point in being a nerd if you don't get to exercise the inner nerd every now and again?

yes, but just like exercising the inner perv, the inner nerd should always be exercised in private

More than 1270 have been sold, however at the end of production i've heard that the total figure is close to 1500.

Wouldn't surprise me - a few cars still seem to be ending up in the hands of the likes of TechArt, Gemballa and so on which makes things difficult to pin down. Porsche had planned to make 1500, I had heard that less than 1400 were ultimately produced, and a figure of 1276 was bandied about at one stage when I was in Leipzig. I could find out if it's important.

Loach i think you are about right,i saw one of the last few cars last year at Leipzig in the del hall.
We sadly missed the visit to see the last few being made, they were already making room for the next generation of 4 door saloons.

I saw the last few being made - I though tthe number was closer to 1250 than 1500, IIRC.
As of May 6, 2006, 1,270 GT's had been sold, with 604 being sold in the United States.
