You guys do talk some bollox. The car is clearly still well on the circuit. Even the inside wheel is just about touching something solid.

I will admit to one slight 1st lap moment in qualifying when bedding in tyres and brakes when I might have spent a brief moment on Mr Palmer`s luscious turf coming out of that very corner - Oh and a couple of seconds admiring the scenery when some plumb whacked me up the arse going into the bombhole on the first lap of race two !

Bloody good weekend, lots of traffic to get my hand in again during Friday`s test, a weird race on Saturday and an hours hard driving on Sunday to play catch up and make up for a lack of straight line speed. Add in bright sunshine, a couple of cold beers, good company and having the family on hand. It gets no better.

The goose seems to be ruffling a few feathers during the club races. Did you want to share your special gear change technique with the group or keep it to yourself

And there was I thinking the circuit was defined by the white line round the edgerolleyes

Henry

Already told my story on my race report thread.

Think you should do a full report too so we can read about the Open races from a driver's perspective.....

A bit of sponsorship the ability to claim Vat back & offset any remainder against tax. Oh and around 300 cars a year.

If we were only selling a couple of cars a year you`d be right to worry.

I wonder how your clients feel about the fact you can afford an expensive Porsche out of fully tax paid money. You must be ripping them right off Kay-C

Fair point in some respects Henry..but i base my profits on an open market opinion that anyone can join in with..you along with other indies and OPcs's seemed to have managed to create this stigma that your cars are better than anything else available in the the private market because you are dealers..an 01 tip tt for just sub £49Keekbest bid for that car cant be more than £38k(judging on what i got offered for a mint manual car with 30k miles on the clock the same year..and manuals i believe have a premium..)Happy motoring Henry and live the spoof as long as it exists,i would..

Kayc - Do you hate everyone that does OK in business? Good Luck to Henry is all I can say. Now if Henry was into off-shore Power Boats or had a Formula 1 team up his sleeve - I might start to question his margins.

I don`t know what you do for a living but I bet there isn`t something like the autotrader in your industry that allows a private individual to compete on equal terms with commercial operations.

45,995 for a 20,000 mile 996 turbo in really lovely condition with recent brakes, tyres, geometry & serviced February `07 doesn`t sound out of the way to me but as usual you`ll know better than me.

Sounds about the right level to me, tempting even (if I can just get past the tip thing) !

I sold mine (manual) for £42k(in pristine condition)...best dealer bid for it was a fair bit lower as you would know..(circa 35k).lets be frank here Henry if i bought that tt from you at 46 k and wanted to sell it back to you 25 seconds later ive lost 6k at minimum..amazingly the 'dealership/warranty' fear has offered you guy's a profitable opportunity that you should, and have taken advantage of because most buyers are shit-scared of trading privately..

It's a catchy melody, though.

For what it's worth, and not having a go at either party, I always play that Benny Hill tune in my head when I read the kayc vs. Henry-f exchanges. Makes them far more entertaining. *sigh* such is my life.

I don't know where you are heading kayc, but looking at the picture I'd rather buy a Porsche from a guy who really knows his stuff (i.e. races his Porsche at the week-end), than somebody who sits in a glasshouse never having driven a Porsche and knowing f... all about what he is selling.
