Larbre Competition to miss Enna-Pergusa
Triple FIA GT Championship-winning team, Larbre Competition, has announced that the team will not be at Enna-Pergusa for the third round of the Championship. The team, which lost its title sponsor Chéreau when the company went into receivership, has been extremely competitive during the first two races, with Christophe Bouchut setting the fastest lap at Barcelona and leading the race in Magny-Cours, but the team has not yet found a new sponsor.
The team, which will still take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa and the French GT Championship, will continue to look for a sponsor to enable it to return to the FIA GT Championship as quickly as possible.
"From the start of the season, the team's aim has been to win," team owner Jack Leconte stated. "We will not take the start in mediocre conditions."
Larbre Competition joined the new N-GT class in 2000, winning the title with Bouchut, Goueslard and a Porsche 996 GT3-R. In 2001, with a Viper, Bouchut and Belloc were victorious, both in the Championship and in the 24 Hours of Spa. Last year, Bouchut won the Drivers title, with a crucial second consecutive win at Spa. This season, Bouchut and Belloc have been extremely competitive speed-wise, but minor problems have prevented them from scoring points.
