I have a Dutton with big vented capri discs and Wilwood 4 pots, all new master cylinder, hoses, drum rear with new slaves. Here's the problem. If I do 3-4 laps on a trackday, the front brakes bind, I then come back in, release a caliper bleed nipple and all is well again, completely free! Obviously the system is pressurising but why? I am using dot 5. Thought it might be air expanding but I have blead the system and I'm not convinced it's that. Any ideas ?

Pedal adjustment? If there is no slack at all at the brake pedal pushrod when the brakes are off, the brakes will bind on as the fluid heats up and expands.

Have you tried 'backing off' the pushrod, between the master cylinder and the pedal, slightly?

Yes, the m/c piston isn't retracting far enough to open the port to the reservoir. This can happen if the pushrod is adjusted too tight, I've also seen it happen on a m/c which was gunked up inside preventing the piston from retracting far enough to open the port.

Does it have a servo? Had a similar problem on my old Mk1 Capri with the brakes binding after a few applications. Turned out to be the servo somehow not letting the internal operating rod retract fully. Changed servo, problem solved.
