polished rims damaged
Discussion
When I collecting my car back from having it valeted I noticed some run like marks not unlike what you get with soapy water at the base of the wheels running on to the tyre then the ground. I thought that these marks would just rub off, They don't.
I've done some investigating and found out that the product used was Traffic Film Remover and that this stuff will burn in to polish alloy due to Caustic (spelling maybe wrong).
Anyone know if any chance of saving the polished rims.

i've used traffic film remover for over 2 years and never had a problem - used it on 6 different cars now - lotus, tvr, porsche, fiat, audi and ford so one of those wheels would have reacted.
However i jet wash it off after only a few minutes soaking on the wheels. all i can think is that they left it on to soak too long. TFR is what 90% of dealership use in their valeting bay and is where i bought mine. Generally they will used a diluted spray for the lower sections of a car and neat on the wheels.
