I keep hearing a squeeking when braking, it's only started recently, the discs and pads are all in good order. Also had it into OPC Aberdeen and they've stripped and checked the brakes out for stones etc that may have found themselves lodged somewhere... it was ok for 2 days after getting it back now it's back to the squeeking again - it's quite annoying going through town. Never having owned a car with PCCB brakes has anyone else had a similar problem.... I'm starting to think that maybe it's not the brakes after all....

any thoughts

They all do that, something to do with the fact the the PCCB are not fitted with anti squeal shims.

I am afraid it is something you will have to live with.

Not sure who told you that, but my GT2 had them fitted before I slung them (the PCCBs and pads) in the bin.

Often brake squeal is caused by the pad transfer layer being stripped from the disk. Solution: Use them in anger and not lightly the whole time. I find with my RS29s that they are quiet right after a track day, but if I do too much gentle road driving they will start to squeal again.

The PCCB's with standard pads on my GT3 squeeked a lot as well. They are being replaced with steels and R29s as we speak. Chose to go for solid disks rather than the Alcons, having heard that the floating variety rattle a lot. Not sure I have made the right choice now if the Pads will be as noisy as this thread suggests anyway.
