my car was booked in a couple of weeks back with opc cambridge for it's major service this week.

I was promised a call on tuesday to arrange the collection of my car as i did not want to use my local opc who were not interested in selling me a car in the first place so why give them the service work.

I received the phone call yesterday and a very friendly guy collected my 996tt from my house in kent at 8am this morning to take the car upto cambridge for it's major service etc. The guy lives 20miles away from me.

Phoned them on my way into work today just to confirm the details etc and again very pleasent conversation and good staff - all very professional.

Now i know that the service is over a grand and that they make good money out of it BUT they did not have to send a guy down to collect it and then delivery it when it's finished but as above i did not want to use my local OPC.

so far i have found both the sales and the service depts excellent.

Let's just hope the service is straight forward and nothing else needs doing.

I think they are running a 'service dept open day' type of thing on the 21st, sounded interesting for us tech-heads, worth giving them a ring if you fancy a look.

They are and are also doing free 111point inspections but i suspect those have long since been booked up.

I can't fault them myself. just after i had bought my car i was on my way over on the Saturday morning to get a replacement key and get it coded when I dropped a couple of coils

not only did they wait for me to get there on the back of the AA's finest but they had also booked out the packs and a new MAF as I had mentioned the hesitancy thing to them which the car seem to have just prior to the breakdown.

After a few cups of their finest and being relieved of more pennies than I would have liked, but happily paid for the excellent service they rendered, I drove off in a car that felt 100% better, not to mention that it was back to a flat 6 rather than 4

Service chap even got me to drive it before and after he had changed the MAF so i could tell the difference.

It was also this experience that taught me insurance backed warren ties aren't worth the paper (IMO) and that I should have got a proper Porsche one!

got my car back all done no issues (touch wood) just needed wiper blades on top of the major service. all very professional to the point where they had said it would be delivered about 6ish, the guy was running late and called me to advise which did not matter as i was stuck on the m25 myself and he ended up giving me road traffic info.

They even put a full tank back in the car!!! i had filled it up for the journey so as to not take the piss and i was not expecting a full tank back.

really really impressed - yes they make money etc but i have never felt valued by a car dealer like this before. Generally they are really kind and sweet when your buying / picking up the car but the 2 service people i spoke two yesterday and the guy who picked up and delivered my car were excellent.

well done imo.

I think the 'words' to give the OPC's is "we don't mind if its a 'little' extra, just make sure you do a good job WITHOUT any hassle"
